School Travel Plan

At Eveline Day School we are very proud of our gold accredited school travel plan. As a school, we all enjoy getting involved with lots of initiatives to encourage sustainable travel. We were awarded a green wall in 2017 when we achieved gold status and we will be planting some trees to try to reduce the pollution at the front of the school. Over the years, we have implemented lots of initiatives. We use the golden padlock in our bike shed to award a child who has come to school using a bike or scooter. We have various Bike It Breakfasts over the year to encourage bike use. We offer Early Years and Key Stage One scooter training every year. We promote walking to school with different walking initiatives such as Walk to School Month, Walk on Wednesdays and Happy Shoes Day. We take part in The Big Pedal every year and compete against other schools to try and have lots of journeys to and from school involving teachers, staff and children. We use the TfL school party scheme to get free tickets to use on the tube if we go into central London. We have various visitors to come and teach the children about road safety, including Wandsworth council and The Big Wheel Theatre Company. We are passionate about environmental issues and our main focus this year is air pollution and reducing car use.
